Grant approval of large R&D project in the ski industry

Research foundation “Bayerische Forschungsstiftung” hands over funding approval for project with Moticon as key technology partner

Moticon provides high tech measurement equipment, software and analysis expertise in a new sports industry driven research and design project.

The “Bayerische Forschungsstiftung” officially handed over the funding approval for a unique industry university collaboration to develop a mechatronic ski binding.
The grant in focus is a collaboration between well known ski manufacturer Völkl, the ski binding manufacturer Marker, the Department of Sports Technology and Materials of the Technische Universität München, Moticon and other technology partners. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Veit Senner held a chilling introductory speech about the potential of bringing high technology and sports science know how together for developing innovative sports technology. The overall grant volume amounts EUR 461,100 and the project is planned to take 3 years.

The research foundation “Bayerische Forschungsstiftung” supports research projects in science and technology in which industry and science work together. This is done in individual projects or in interdisciplinary research alliances in which several universities, research institutions and companies, especially SMEs, cooperate.
