Video

Videos can be automatically synchronized with recorded data from Moticon sensor insoles. There are two options for synchronization of videos.

Some optional functions may not be available, depending on your type of license.

What are you looking for?

Webcam

Using the Webcam Video Synchronization is the easiest way to include a video to your measurement. The Webcam widget is used to display the video while recording.

Please follow these instructions to start a webcam video synchronization:

  1. Activate the webcam video recording in Settings. If you're not familiar with activating a webcam video recording, please follow this link.
  2. Start recording (Live capture, Recording, Smart Recording) of sensor data as always. In case you're not familiar with the workflow of taking a measurement, please see this section for further information.
  3. Stop the recording.
  4. The webcam video file is automatically stored in the Video Folder of the Analyze section.
  5. Download the recorded data from your sensor insoles in case you took a Recording or Smart Recording measurement.
  6. For further information on how to display the video synchronously with your measurement, please take a look at the section Analyze/Videos.

Note:

Once the webcam is enabled, a video will be acquired every time a recording (Live Capture, Recording, Smart Recording) is taken.

External camera

For independent video filming, any digital camera can be used. To synchronize the digital camera with the sensor insoles' data, the Video Sync widget is used. This widget displays a two-dimensional barcode (QR-code) containing time information.

Please follow these instructions to start an external camera video synchronization:

  1. Display the Video Sync widget on your dashboard.
  2. Start video acquisition with your digital camera.
  3. Film the barcode for at least 5 seconds.
  4. Start recording (Live capture, Recording, Smart Recording) of sensor data as always. In case you're not familiar with the workflow of taking a measurement, please see this section for further information.
  5. Stop the recording.
  6. Stop the video acquisition of your digital camera.
  7. Download the recorded data from your sensor insoles in case you took a Recording or Smart Recording measurement.
  8. For further information how to import the external video and display the video synchronously with your measurement, please take a look at the section Analyze/Videos.

Note:

Before importing the external video into the Moticon Science Software, you have to connect your digital camera to your computer and download the video file.
