Munich: Annual Meeting of the Educational Center for Orthopaedic Shoe Technology

Munich: Annual Meeting of the Educational Center for Orthopaedic Shoe Technology

Background:
The Bavarian guild for orthopaedic shoe technology formed an association to support science, research, education, and advanced training in this professional field. The members of this association meet once a year discussing urgent topics regarding orthopedic shoe technology.

OST 4.0- digital steps into the future:
This was the slogan of this year`s event taking place in the BMW-World in Munich. More than 200 members attended the event, including many CEOs from orthopedic shoe companies and Moticon. Henning Steiner, our sales professional for the orthopaedic market, took the chance to present Moticon’s ORTHO product line and showed how to measure foot dynamics completely wireless. It was a great opportunity to get in close contact with potential customers and to give them an idea about our manifold software features.
In a 2-hours workshop the next day, typical use cases for the orthopaedic shoe business were presented giving interested customers the possiblity to try out the system themselves. The attendees learned a lot about the benefits of a completely wireless foot dynamics measurement system and the handling of the Moticon software.

Chicago: Moticon to Help People with Knee Arthritis

A study at Rush University Medical Center is testing whether Moticon sensor insoles can help people with knee arthritis!

The progression of osteoarthritis can be slowed down by putting less strain on the affected joints. By using the Moticon sensor insoles, researches from Rush University are monitoring the patients’ walking in their normal shoes and a pair of flat, flexible shoes that allow for natural foot movements for a six-week period. The patients will also be interacting with the sensor insoles’ data using a smartphone. After six weeks the researches will be able to see if and how participants changed the way they walked and if this led to improvements in their condition.

Athletic Trainer Conference 2017

Athletic Trainer Conference 2017

Moticon @ the ATK in Hennef, Germany!

The ATK is a very good platform to get in touch with professional and semiprofessional athletic trainers, so it didn’t take Moticon long deciding to attend this great conference. Apart from several presentations from well-known athletic trainers on prevention, rehabilitation and athletic training in general, the Sportschule Hennef also organized a one-day workshop with Dr. Tim Gabbett – a sports scientist working for 20 years with athletes and coaches from different sports now.

The conference was very well organized giving us the perfect opportunity to profoundly talk to interested prospects from the elite sports field and demonstrate Moticon PHYSIO’s highlights to them: Sensing in-field foot dynamics without cables, without limits! Unfortunately our PHYSIO product manager Pierre Widmann, an atheltic trainer himself, suffered from a ligament rupture a couple of days before the conference. But being profoundly convinced of Moticon’s advantages and making the best out of this situation, he seized the moment to showcase the system’s benefits for return-to-play rehabilitation therapy.

Great success for Moticon and the AO Foundation on the dedicated “Sensor Insole Workshop”!

Great success for Moticon and the AO Foundation on the dedicated “Sensor Insole Workshop”!

Moticon joined the workshop “Sensor Insole based Patient Outcome Assessment” organized by the AO Foundation on August 31st in Zurich, Switzerland.

Some breathtaking news rolled out right at the start: The peer-reviewed approval of a major 5 year multi-center study, which is dedicated to patient fracture aftercare outcome assessment with Moticon sensor insole products. The AO Foundation is working on a revolutionary in-patient care approach aimed at enhancing rehabilitation quality. We’re proud that Moticon is an integral project partner. In total, 4500 patients will be included and several clinics will collaborate on a completely new, multi-dimensional approach for patient outcome assessment and active patient feedback.

Surgeons and decision makers from Asia Pacific, Europe, and USA participated in the exciting discussions centered on the question, “how to improve quality of life for patients suffering from lower limb injuries?” The Moticon team was given the opportunity to introduce our latest developments and outlook, including the upcoming Moticon Cloud Solutions for cloud based patient data storage and analytics.

Thanks to all participants and the great enthusiasm to push eHealth solutions forward!

Moticon creates new SCIENCE leads in Down Under

Part 2 of Moticon’s exciting trip to Australia was the 16th Congress of the International Society of Biomechanics, taking place in Brisbane from July 23rd to 27th. Again a great and international congress bringing together researchers from all areas of biomechanics, especially related to human movement.

Having in mind the positive feelings from ISB2015 in Galsgow this year’s ISB congress was a good chance to meet existing customers in person and interested people from all over the world in a nice and friendly atmosphere. We experienced a high interest in our fully integrated SCIENCE sensor insoles and are looking forward to welcome new scientists using our Moticon products for their ground breaking research.

Once more a well-organized ISB congress and a lovely destination. See you soon at the next ISB congress in 2019, and maybe in Australia…
